Would highly recommend this clinic! Dr Yusuf was amazing and ensured I achieved the results I was after. The nurses were also spectacular, ensuring optimal comfort for my aftercare. Very happy, would definitely get more treatments done here.

My name is Pelin and I travelled from Australia to Turkey to undergo what I expected would be a routine gastric sleeve operation through MayClinik. Unfortunately, my experience turned into the most traumatic medical experience of my life. Following my surgery on 28 April 2026, I developed a serious complication that required multiple additional procedures. Instead of one operation, I ultimately underwent three procedures, spent weeks in hospital, had multiple drains inserted, a stent placed for six weeks, numerous CT scans, oxygen therapy due to breathing difficulties, and months of recovery. I experienced severe pain, fevers, extreme fatigue, anaemia requiring IV iron and vitamin treatment, difficulty eating, and significant emotional distress. My family and I were forced to remain in Kocaeli far longer than planned, resulting in substantial unexpected accommodation, travel and living expenses. While I appreciate the efforts of the treating doctors who managed my complication, I was deeply disappointed by MayClinik’s communication and aftercare. At no stage did the company contact me to apologise for what I had experienced. I did not receive follow-up calls or welfare checks after such a serious complication, despite remaining in Turkey for an extended period. No one contacted me to ask how I was recovering or whether I needed assistance. I also received no offer to reimburse any of the significant additional expenses my family incurred or any discussion of a goodwill refund. Following removal of the stent after six weeks, I underwent another CT scan with oral contrast and was told there were no leaks and that everything looked good. I am grateful that I am now recovering, but the journey to get here was far beyond anything I expected when I chose MayClinik. Thank you for your response. I acknowledge that surgical complications are a recognised risk of bariatric surgery, and I appreciate the efforts of Dr. Osman Gözkün and the hospital team who treated me throughout my prolonged hospital stay. I am genuinely grateful that my stent was successfully removed after six weeks and that my final CT scan confirmed there were no leaks. However, my review reflects my personal experience with MayClinik as the company I engaged to arrange and manage my medical journey. It is important to note that my contract and payment were with MayClinik, not directly with Dr. Osman Gözkün. I was invoiced by MayClinik and entrusted the company to coordinate my care before, during and after my surgery. For that reason, my comments relate to my experience with MayClinik’s overall service and patient support, not solely the medical treatment I received from the surgeon. While my medical treatment in hospital was provided, my concerns extend beyond the clinical care itself. My husband and I incurred significant unexpected accommodation, travel and living expenses because we were unable to return to Australia as planned. At no point was there any discussion about financial assistance, reimbursement, or any goodwill gesture to help with these costs. Following such a serious complication, I also expected a higher level of aftercare from the company that arranged my surgery. From my perspective, I did not receive the level of ongoing follow-up, welfare checks, or patient support that I believed an international medical tourism provider should offer after such a significant complication. I have also requested a complete copy of my medical records so that I can fully understand what occurred during my treatment. My review was never intended to suggest that complications cannot happen. It was written so that prospective patients understand that they should ask detailed questions before travelling overseas about what support, communication, financial assistance and follow-up they can expect if they experience a serious complication. I sincerely hope MayClinik uses my experience as an opportunity to improve its support for future international patients. I continue to recover and wish Dr. Osman Gözkün and the hospital team well, but my review accurately reflects my experience as a patient of MayClinik.

I had cosmetic surgery with MayClinic in June 2026 and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. My liaison, Kaylee, was fantastic — responsive, patient, and thorough from our first messages (via text) in April (keep in mind they’re 7 hours ahead, but replies were always timely). We arrived in Turkey four days before the procedure — highly recommended, Turkey is beautiful and worth the extra time. The clinic provided shuttle service that was always punctual, courteous, and with immaculate vehicles. At every destination someone was ready to greet us. On surgery day we arrived at the private hospital early and within three hours I’d completed a chest x-ray, EKG, and bloodwork. The team was fast, attentive, and professional. My husband stayed with me during the two-day recovery; the sleeper was comfortable and they provided three meals a day (typical hospital food). Any tinge of pain was managed promptly — the worst I felt was about 4/10. After two days we were driven to The Point hotel; the driver even escorted my husband to the pharmacy to make sure we had everything. Nurses visited 3–4 times daily to check on me and assist with comfort — all very caring and with good English. Communication throughout the process was outstanding, mostly via WhatsApp. After I returned home, aftercare continued with video instructions for post-op massages and ongoing photo-based follow-up and guidance. Cosmetic surgery can be scary. Dr. Cakir laid out clear timelines for when I’d see progress, and every one of them was spot on. Knowing that has been incredibly reassuring while I’m still healing. Overall a 10/10 experience. I would confidently recommend MayClinic to even my pickiest friends and family.
